Welcome to this year's iteration of PennApps-the Original College Hackathon! We're so happy you are joining us for our first-ever virtual event! We can't wait to see what you all come up with. This DevPost is where you will submit your final projects at the end of the weekend. Have fun, and happy hacking! :)
Requirements
Please submit a link to your submission demo video! The video should have a length MAXIMUM of 5 minutes, and should preferably be posted to a youtube or another service where we can easily access it with a link. PLEASE submit a draft submission by 5pm EDT on Saturday, and 8am EDT on Sunday. These are HARD DEADLINES. No exceptions.
Please remember that these need to be ORIGINAL projects! Brainstorming before hacking starts is fine, but if you submit something that you have made before hand, you will be disqualified.

Each winner will receive a $100 dollar Amazon gift card, and their choice of either the Sony XM4's or Bose Noise Cancelling 700's.
2nd Place
Each winner will receive a $100 dollar Amazon gift card, along with their choice of one of the following: Airpods, Samsung Galaxy earbuds, or Jabra elite earbuds.
3rd Place
Each winner will receive a $100 dollar Amazon gift card, along with their choice between Sony, COWIN, or Jabra wireless earbuds

In this year’s PennApps “Hack-for-Resilience” route, you’ll have the chance to help people by developing apps, tools, and other technologies to help people in harm’s way. Each member of the first-place team for this route will receive a $200 Amazon gift card. 1st place winners will be invited to present their hacks at a Lightning Rounds innovation showcase, part of the Resilience Accelerator initiative, a collaboration of Triple-I, ResilientH2O Partners and The Cannon–that showcases technology solutions creators before a live panel of insurance and non-insurance investors. Each member of the second-place team for this route will receive a $100 dollar Amazon gift card.
Route: Insurtech by Wharton Risk

This year, students are encouraged to think about how “Insurtech” can be used to advance resilience. That is, how can innovative technologies and software be applied to insurance decisions and business operations to help more households get financial protection against disaster risks. Each winner will receive a Google-branded Patagonia backpack, water bottle, and trophy.

The team with the best use of AI/Machine Learning will each be awarded a $50 dollar Amazon gift card.

Judging Criteria

Technical Difficulty
Is the hack technically interesting or difficult? Is it just an addendum to an API, or were there real technical challenges to surmount? This is the most important criterion that your hack will be judged upon for the general prizes. -
Originality
Is the hack more than just another generic social/mobile/local app? Does it do something entirely novel, or at least take a fresh approach to an old problem? -
Functionality
Is the hack a functional, working project, rather than just an idea?
